That’s fantastic for vapers who want options, but it also means it’s easy to grab the wrong pack of coils and end up frustrated at checkout (or worse, at home with a pod that just won’t click in).
We put together this guide to clear things up once and for all. Grab your device, check which series it belongs to, and you’ll know exactly what to add to cart.
UWELL didn’t just release one Caliburn and call it done; they built out several sub-series over time, each aimed at a slightly different vaping style. Some use pods with the coil already built in. Others use refillable pods paired with separate, swappable coils. And the newest generation moved to an entirely new cartridge platform. Once you know which “family” your device belongs to, though, shopping gets a lot easier.
Let’s break it down by series.
This is the one that started it all. The device that basically invented the modern refillable pod system as we know it. It’s no longer in production, but plenty of vapers still have one tucked in a drawer. If that’s you, you’ll want the original Caliburn replacement pods, which come in 1.2ohm and 1.4ohm resistances. Good news, these pods are all cross-compatible with the Caliburn KOKO, so if you’ve got either device, you’re shopping from the same bin.
Think of the A series as the spiritual successor to the original. Same slim, pen-style shape, same idea of a pod with the coil built right in. There’s not a separate coil to swap here; when the flavor starts fading, you simply replace the whole pod. It’s about as low-maintenance as vaping gets, which is exactly why so many people started here.

This is where things get interesting, and where most Element Vape customers land, since it’s UWELL’s most cross-compatible platform to date.
The Caliburn G coil comes in three flavors:
0.8ohm mesh - great for a slightly airier, more direct-to-lung-leaning draw with bigger flavor and vapor
1.0ohm standard - the classic tight mouth-to-lung pull, closest to a cigarette-style draw
1.2ohm mesh - a relaxed, restricted-DTL option for folks who like a bit more airflow
Here’s the part that trips people up: these coils fit an impressively wide range of devices, the Caliburn G, G2, GK2, GZ2, KOKO Prim, Tenet, Explorer, and Ironfist L. So if you own any of these, you’re all shopping from the same coil family
But, and this is important, the coils being universal doesn’t mean the pods are. Each device in this family needs its own specific pod shell (a G2 device needs a G2 pod, a GK2 pod, and so on), even though the coil that snaps inside is shared across the lineup. So when you’re restocking, check two things: the coil resistance you want, and the pod that actually matches your device’s housing.

UWELL shook things up with this generation by introducing the GPP (G Pod Platform) and FOCS Coil System, an integrated cartridge design rather than a separate pod-and-coil combo. That means the coil and cartridge come as one leakproof unit, built for a longer lifespan and more consistent flavor throughout the pod’s life. Devices in this newer G3 family top out around 25W, giving you a bit more headroom than earlier Caliburns.
If you own a G3 family device, look specifically for GPP cartridges. The older G-series 0.8/1.01/1.2ohm coils won’t fit this platform, since it’s a different system under the hood. (The original G3-specific pods have actually been discontinued and folded into the GPP lineup, so if you're shopping today, GPP is simply the correct pod to grab.)

The G4 lineup kept the same GPP platform from the G3 generation, so here's the good news, any GPP pod that fits your G3 also fits your G4. UWELL didn't reinvent the pod here, they refined the device around it.
A few notes on the differences within the G4 family itself:
So no matter what G4 you own, you're shopping the same GPP pod shelf. Just pick your preferred resistance (0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.9ohm, or 1.2ohm).

The G5 is UWELL's current flagship, and its sticks with the GPP platform too. Meaning you G3 and G4 pods will work here as well, What's new is the GPP Alpha Pod, an upgraded cartridge built with UWELL's AlphaCore mesh coil for roughly double the lifespan of a standard GPP pod (UWELL cites up to 17+ refill or 50mL+ of e-liquid, versus the 20-30mL most vapers get from standard pod). It also adds a softer, more comfortable TPU mouthpiece.
The G5 also brings Pro-FOCS 4.0 flavor tech, stepless airflor control, and a reversible pod for easier orientation. Nice quality-of-life upgrades layerd on top of the same reliable pod system.
Bottom line for G5 owners: you can run either the standard GPP pod or the newer GPP Alpha pod. Both come in the same four resistances (0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.9ohm, 1.2ohm) and fit your device identically. Alpha just lasts longer between refills.
The Caliburn X carved its own niche with pods designed specifically for that device. It shares some coil DNA with the broader G-series lineup (the G coils fits here too), but always double check the pod itself is listed as X-compatible before you buy.
| If you own... | Coil to buy | Notes |
| Original Caliburn / KOKO | 1.2ohm or 1.4ohm Caliburn Pods | Built-in Coil, Cross-Compatible with each other |
| Caliburn A Series | A-Series Pods | Built-In Coil |
| Caliburn G, G2, GK2, GZ2, Tenet, Explorer, KOKO Prime, Ironfist L | Caliburn G Coils (0.8ohm / 1.0 ohm / 1.2ohm) | Coils are shared. Pods are still device-specific |
| Caliburn X | Caliburn X Pods (G Coils Compatible) | Confirm pod says "X-Compatible" |
| Caliburn G3, G3 Lite, GK3, GK3 Tenet | GPP Cartridges (0.4ohm-1.2ohm) | Integrated cartridge, not compatible with older G coils |
| Caliburn G4, G4 Pro, G4 Mini, G4 Classic | GPP Cartidges (0.4ohm-1.2ohm | Same GPP pod as G3 - shared platform |
| Caliburn G5, G5 KOKO, G5 Lite, G5 Lite SE | GPP or GPP Alpha Catridges (0.4ohm-1.2ohm) | Same GPP pod as G3/G4; Alpha pods last longer |
When in doubt, match by device name printed on the box, not by “well, it looks like my old one.” UWELL’s naming can be subtle, a G2 and GK2 are not the same thing, and the fastest way to avoid a return is to search your exact model on the product page before checking out.
Happy Vaping!
