Oil concentrate pens typically use simple, direct conduction heating with basic coil or ceramic core technology on a much smaller scale than dry herb vaporizers. That simplicity is a big reason they cost less.
The price gap between dry herb vapes and oil pens is not just about heating methods, it is also about precision engineering. High end dry herb vapes offer degree by degree temperature control, allowing users to dial in exact settings for different strains and desired effects. Many feature medical grade materials like stainless steel vapor paths, ceramic chambers, and glass mouthpieces that never touch plastic. Some even include haptic feedback, replaceable batteries, and smartphone apps for custom temperature curves. Oil pens, by contrast, use basic coil technology with three or four preset voltage settings and cheaper materials. That simplicity keeps them affordable, but it also limits the experience.
Similar to smoking out of a bong or hand pipe, you will need to grind your flower and load it into the vape chamber. Turn the device on.
