Founded in 1961 by Simon Camacho and later revitalized under the leadership of the Eiroa family, Camacho has built its reputation on delivering cigars that are as intense and vibrant as their branding.
From the smooth Camacho Connecticut to the fiery Camacho Corojo, the brand’s motto — Live Loud — is more than marketing; it’s a promise of full-flavored smoking experiences.
The Camacho story begins when Cuban exile Simon Camacho established the brand in Miami in 1961. His cigars gained international acclaim, even attracting fans like Winston Churchill. The next chapter began in the early 1990s when the Eiroa family, headed by Julio Eiroa, purchased the brand and moved production to Honduras, where they had extensive tobacco-growing operations.
Under the Eiroas, Camacho became famous for its authentic Honduran Corojo tobacco — a bold, flavorful varietal that would become the brand’s signature. In 2008, Camacho was acquired by Davidoff of Geneva, which elevated its global reach while maintaining its robust, daring character.
Camacho cigars are handcrafted in Danlí, Honduras, using tobaccos from the Eiroa family’s farms and other premium sources in Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.
